Promoter profile:- JK Prasad completed his graduation from Bihar and started exploring Jewellery business in Kolkata. Since Kolkatta is a hub for world class artisans who specialised in crafting handmade stunning Jewellery which has demand across India, JK Prasad saw this opportunity and ventured in this business with a very small capital. Mr Prasad underwent months of training in a local silver shop. In 1989, Mr. Prasad setup JK Silver & Co. in Kolkata. As the name suggests, the one-man company specialised in silver ornaments and articles. Mr. Prasad travelled through the length and breadth of South India to sell his wares. Soon, jewellers in Chennai, Vellore, Hyderabad, Warangal, Vijaywada, Bangalore, Hassan and Mangalore were hankering after the specially crafted silver Jjewellery and articles that Mr. Prasad possessed. In the year 1995 Mr. Prasad opened a branch at Bangalore and started Gold ornaments business in the year 1996. In the year 2004 JKS JEWELS PVT LTD was established and thereafter opened offices at Chennai, Coimbatore to supply leading Jewellers of South and Western India with delicately crafted Gold Ornaments. He started the company with his own meager savings and now JKS Jewels boasts business running into hundreds of crores per annum.
